Twisted Together by Pepper Winters

3.0

As far-fetched and difficult to believe the first two books were, Twisted Together is utterly absurd and a tad ridiculous. I was excited about the premise of this story - a girl kidnapped on her vacation in Mexico with her fiancée and sold to slavery to a sadistic master? Who would not want to read this kind of an erotic novel? But as exciting the first book was, as disappointing and non-exciting is this one. I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading parts of it - the parts that did not seem sappy and over-sentimental and completely unbelievable - though such parts were kind of scarce. After reading the first book, I never would have thought sappy would be the word I would use to describe anything in this series. But here it is, folks. All in all, I am sure all of us expected a fairy-tale ending and a fairy-tale ending we got. It is a beautiful love story if you do not think about things like reality check and logic and such and it is a very easy (slavery, being sold - easy-peasy, right?) read with some very enjoyable intimate scenes. Come to think of it, making such a hard topic into such a romantic story full of love and devotion and loyalty is not bad at all!
