This book makes you feel like the world is a really big place and if you try hard enough you might just be able to grab it.
But then again you might not. It is a roller coaster of emotions that fully deserves the hype.
The writing style takes a little getting used to but is very well done and absorbing.
The characters are harsh and snappy and a long way from perfect. They are what makes the book exceptional for me. I want what they have. But Jenkins Read makes you feel that, while pointing out carefully how impossible it is to maintain the balance of life like that.
I polished it off in 4 hours after dinner. The music comes alive even though you can't hear it. And I often hate songs in books. The small lyric excerpts were not too much. I do want to experience the music, and I will watch the TV show, though I'm worried it will be terrible and ruin the book.
A fantastic read. Don't recommend if you're in recovery.
