Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown
fast-paced
2.0
Whew this book hasn’t aged well. Starting off with the good… I think this book can work in the micro. With your family and friend braving is a good idea. Be kinder more opening to listen different opinions, don’t dehumanize people. Where it fails (to me) is trying to make this a general way of life and lot of these self help books miss the mark there. It’s is 2023 ( George Floyd, insurrection, repealing Roe just to name a few, and Capitalism going to crap). Killing them with kindness is not working. Educating people who my not want to be educated is tiring and frankly can put you in danger if you are in a minority group in wrong place. Sadly not everyone is adopting this ideal and radicalization is on the rise. If you are in a thriving moment in your life you probably vibe with this book, but if you are just surviving this is not the solution you want or need.
