To Snap a Silver Stem by Sarah A. Parker
3.5
slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No

Marginally less dull and less annoying FMC than book 1.

Overall plot moved along a bit but not enough.  It felt like a lot of filler without a lot of substance. There was a small amount of character development, which I was infinitely grateful for. Orlaith is less annoying and naive than in book 1 and she (thankfully) takes more initiative.

Lots of questions still and I don’t really understand why two characters have their own storylines. I enjoyed their stories as they were a refreshing break from oralith’s dull personality but they didn’t tie into the main story. That doesn’t usually bother me but the lack of plot progression or explanations makes these two random POV’s just feel like too much.

Book 2 ends in a cliffhanger so I’ll at least start books three. Will probably finish just for the sake of closure but not because I’m really enjoying the series, unfortunately.
