The Song Rising
by Samantha Shannon
medium-paced
I love the way this author weaves very real racism and prejudice amidst fictionalized racism of clairvoyants.
Similar to the other two stories, I still catch myself asking “who is that” or “what does that mean” with some of the characters and made up words. But overall I enjoy the story she’s weaving. I appreciate the time she’s taking in order for the main character to grow and strengthen, as well as the time she’s taking to unfurl the story and the world.
