Honestly, I wanted this book to be better. But it’s just so “meh.” It got so much hype when I was in 5th grade, and I’m fairly certain I read it then. But I don’t remember liking it all that much. But I figured maybe my adult self would read it with a completely different perspective. And while that was true in many ways, it still disappointed me how much I got bored. And Eragon is a bit annoying as a character too, but maybe that’s just because he is a teenager. He at least has a little bit of a character arch into making wiser decisions. I liked some of the side characters more. I guess I’m glad I gave it a second chance, but I never plan on reading this book again.
