Honor on the Cape by M.K. Meredith

4.0

Honor on the Cape: an on Cape novel (Cape Van Buren Book 2) by MK Meredith is the second book in her Cape Van Buren series. This series can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series to get the full enrichment of this series. I enjoyed this story by this author. This is a second chance story that is heartwarming and will pull at your heartstrings in parts. I enjoy this author's writing skills as she has the ability to pull you right into the story with ease. One of the my favorite things about his author is how she can pull at my heartstrings and leave me wanting more from these characters. Her characters are both connectable and true to life. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. This is the story of Blayne and James. Ten years ago he left her in a country by herself with a broken heart. She knows that she needs to make good for herself so that when she returns home she won't be accused of dishonoring her family. What will happen when she is offered a job that will give her honor to herself and her family? When James is asked to help her at her new job, will she fall for him all over again? He knows that he never should have left her but he is determined not to let that affect him and getting her back. Will her honor be restored? Is there a HEA in their future? I enjoyed both of these characters. Blayne is such a strong woman that I felt compassion for her. She was just broken by him but yet she managed to do what she needed to do. I wasn't sure what to think of James in the beginning because he just left her with nothing and no one not to mention he crushed her. I did enjoy his determination in doing what was right. The secondary characters are supportive that added suspense and laughter to this story. I enjoyed them for sure. I highly recommend this story. Find out if Blayne and James will find their HEA or if fate has something else in store for them.
