*Audible Review*
I had previously read Possession, and the entire Explicitly Yours series, a little over a year ago, but when I saw Jessica Hawkins was having the audiobook recorded I knew I had to read it again. Or rather, listen to it. Narrated by Christian Fox, one of romancelandia's favorite narrators, I knew I was in for an erotic audible adventure. I usually like female narrators or alternating narrators, but Christian Fox knocked the ball out of the park with Possession. His natural voice, used for the general story and descriptors, is just the right amount of manly for a story of this nature. His character voices too were excellent, with Lola just the right pitch higher and Beau's just the right amount of gruff and demanding. I was immediately pulled into the story and I didn't want to stop listening when I exited my car and I definitely didn't want it to be over when I realized the next book has not yet released on audiobook. I really like this series and I highly recommend listening to it on audible, it's excellent.

*Book Review*

Lola Winters is pretty in that natural sort of way. She wears leather pants, her hair is usually pulled back, and her face is devoid of makeup. As a bartender and assistant manager at Hey Joe, a place she's been at for years, she's got no one to impress. She has her regulars, her friends, and companionship behind the bar. The only thing she doesn't have is certainty, of the bar's future or of her own.

Beau Olivier is a businessman and he knows how to get what he wants and he always gets it. He doesn't expect anything different when he sets his sites on Lola Winters, using her desire to purchase Hey Joe as leverage for her to give him just one night. He's willing to make her dreams come true, but he has conditions and Lola has a reason to say no, yet the promise of a future is too hard to ignore.

Jessica Hawkins has a way of taking events that no one ever wants to experience personally and telling a story you can't put down. She puts you in Lola's shoes, she makes you fall for gruff Beau, and she makes you forget this is not a fairytale romance story. Beau is demanding, he requires complete submission, and yet he shows sincerity and emotion through out his short evening with Lola. Lola is innocent in many ways, her experience in life having left out the lesson for a deal such as this. Their meeting is unconventional, the promise of one night allows for an erotic affair, but emotions are such a fickle thing. Possession is an erotic novel built on secrets, promises, and lust. Money can buy you so much and time, though fleeting, always leaves a mark, and Jessica Hawkins certainly leaves a mark with Possession.
