Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes by Sylvie Stewart, Marika Ray

5.0

The title of this book intrigued me, and the book was pure fun. I am not usually a fan of insta-love, but it worked in this book and the circumstances they find themselves in.

Olivia is a 43-year-old divorced woman going through menopause. She receives an invitation to her ex-husband's new wedding and doesn't want to go...but she does. Roman is a 41-year-old hockey player. He's the oldest in the league and his body is reminding him of this daily.

Roman and Olivia's each have daughters who are roommates in college. He hasn't been the best father to Hannah so when she asks him to come to Belize to pretend to be Olivia's date for the wedding weekend, he can't say no.

Roman and Olivia are so cute together. He has it more together than she does for the situation they are in, and he helps to show her and make her realize how awesome she is. She no longer needs to put herself down in front her ex.

I love that this is about an older couple, showing that love can be found at any time. Both Roman and Olivia are dealing with changes in their body. I love that Roman was understanding of Olivia's menopause symptoms. (The extra fans each night was so funny!)

I loved everything about this book and look for more from this author duo.
