I have mixed feelings about this book. I read over a long period in bursts, so that might be part of it. While I think the middle book of the series was the best, this was a mostly fitting finale. It introduced a few new characters and made their stories meaningful to the overarching plot, satisfyingly upped the stakes on issues introduced in the last book, delved more into the characters and their relationships, and expanded the world. I think my issue is that the expanding didn’t work for me. I feel like the author tried to squeeze 5 books of plot and  character growth (especially for the MC) into three. I can’t help comparing it to Percy Jackson because PJ feels like a better developed version of this. However, I really enjoyed the series. Especially character relationships and a slightly different take on power dynamics between gods and heroes.
