To quote the author herself from the event where I bought this book: the second-best story about grief, mother-daughter relationships, and the multiverse, after Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. Multiverse stories about grief are my favorite niche subgenre, so this book was a big hit. All the characters are understandable, even when they're terrible. Five out of five, for appealing to all my favorite things.
