A real hidden gem, I devoured this fairy tale-esque fantasy. I do question the Jane Austen comparison (nothing about this indicated a regency time period or anything Austen), but otherwise really enjoyed the dark and mystical tone. The main character, Briony, is extremely likable, and I found the world-building dynamic and unique. If this had been released by a major publisher, it would have been a massive success. Excited for book two!
