Hexbreaker

Title: Hexbreaker
Author: Jordan L. Hawk
I like this.
I really like the world - witches and familiars (which are able to shift into a lot of different animals) and their own police - and when it's set - just when New York became New York.
I love Cicero. I just enjoyed it a lot to be reading about him and his woes and the dangers he's in and the friends he has. :) I also adore the fact that he's a cat shifter. ♥
I really like Tom too. His past his tragic and some of the things he saw and had to do? *hugs him a lot*
But, still, a certain something has been missing for me. :/ I don't know if it's the standard "someone dead is still alive and plots to take over the world" plot part or that the characters fall deeply in love in the span of a few days even though they really didn't like each other when they met and one of them even had cause to fear the other or something else. I honestly don't know what has been missing for me/rubbed me the wrong way.
I don't know if I'm going to read the second part of this series because it has different main characters. *hrmpf* I'm not too happy with that because I prefer to have a series about the same two main characters and not a series with a different pair of main characters in every book. But, we will see. :)
