Easily one of the best books I have ever read; has anyone ever created a character as finely described, as loved, as admired as Owen Meany? Perhaps only Dickens can rival Mr Irving on character description. This is the first Irving book I have read; I intend to read as many more as possible. His writing is rich, lyrical, thoughtful and ultimately engaging. I wish I could write half as well as this.Fantastic.
