This is the best English classic novel I've read so far!

Beautiful writing from Shelley, the story is compelling and I'm sure it created quite the sensation for its time - the endless tv and cinema adaptations are proof. The reader grows to love Frankenstein and feel for his emotional state, letting him finally rest at the end, but we also feel for the monster who wanted nothing but to be loved and accepted.

It is interesting how Shelley seems to be against the genocides of indigenous Americans, but doesn't follow the same line of thought about Britain's treatment of India (based on the things she shares with us through the characters), which is questionable.
