A Place Without You
by Jewel E. Ann

Fans of Emily Henry will appreciate the angsty love story of Henna and Bodhi. We watch Henna and Bodhi navigate their love for each other over the course of many years and a number of pivotal events, as they try to find a place to fit in the other’s life.

I enjoyed this story and felt a deep connection for the characters. The feeling of identification and peace that Bodhi found in Henna’s love for him was well developed and I could feel it as I read along.

However, I did find Henna to be a bit aggressive and exasperating at times. I suppose that was intentional. She was 19 years old when the book started after all. Nonetheless, at times it was frustrating to watch her push Bodhi so much and be generally careless.

This books also offers a welcomed and nuanced exploration of marijuana- how it affects people using it for both recreational and medical purposes. Henna’s struggle with chronic pain was described in a sensitive and believable way. I appreciated the thoughtful way that we saw Henna find benefit, and sometimes harm, from her use of marijuana.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it.I’m
