Pride and Joy: A Guide for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Parents by Sarah Hagger-Holt, Rachel Hagger-Holt

challenging emotional informative reflective medium-paced

4.5

Very interesting book, I loved reading about different LGBT parent's experiences as I hope to become a parent one day myself.

Sometimes the advice is a little simplistic or obvious to me, but it's a good starting point. I personally would have liked to read more from trans men and non-binary parents as there is only one trans man and one genderfluid person mentioned and we only hear about them from their partners.

Those are minor points though, the book does capture a wide range of experiences and perspectives. It's an emotional and joyous read, with some funny and heartwrenching quotes. It's  written in a very accessible way and I think it would be good for pretty much anyone to read regardless of if they are an LGBT parent or not.
