From a Low and Quiet Sea by Donal Ryan

5.0

Finished reading From A Low And Quiet Sea by Donal Ryan, and fuck me if this isn't a Booker winner. Beautiful, moving, hilarious and intelligent. I loved the characters, so distinct from one another. There was even a cheeky Irish grandpa who reminded me of my cheeky Irish grandpa. And it had the best insult I've heard in a long while in said by the grandpa: cuntyballs. Gotta be a 5 stars, and I'm off to put a tenner on it.
