I like a regency time travel book as much as the next reader and the mystery of the missing girl was really a good story but there was just too much about this book that was confusing for me to give it a higher star rating.
First, the title An Earl Out of Time but really the Earl wasn't out of time but his visitor Cassie who was out of her time period. Then, the story starts with Cassie being some kind of special constable volunteer. It was just too confusing a way to get her to her actual time travel.
Once the story gets going, it is good it just was a little confusing getting there.
