Not really sure how to rate this one. There were parts of it I was really into, broken up by parts I was bored by or that made no sense. I spent 20 minutes after finishing it googling “devil house explained” and reading reviews to try to make sense of it all, only to find most people were just as confused and thrown off as I was, which is comforting I guess to know I’m only as dumb as everyone else. Maybe even Darnielle didn’t know the point of part 4 and that’s why he made it so hard to read *shrug*
