Lesbian vampires with a fat main character let's GOOOOO. Loved it! Warning for toxic student teacher relationship, dom-sub dynamics, and your typical vampire stuff, blood and death, and brief touches of religion, WITHOUT homophobia.
This book has a dark and sultry mood steeped all the way through it, which is absolutely perfect for vampires in academia. It's an interpersonal drama, diving headfirst into a delicious but toxic relationship and then easing into more a comfortable mutual desire and dom-sub relationship, which can only become possible after the requisite self-exploration and knowing oneself. There's a fair amount of smut. This book is feels like drinking one more glass of red wine just to indulge. I will say, give the audiobook a try too, because the reader did excellently with accents and character voices.

Graphic: Death, Sexual content, Violence, Murder, Alcohol
Minor: Fatphobia, Religious bigotry, Gaslighting
Fatphobia is handled with care and not a major issue. The character is self-conscious about her body when the occasion calls for her to undress, but no one else shames her. Others actually praise/celebrate her.For people who are concerned or who have no critical thinking skills, yes the toxic student-teacher relationship is eventually understood as manipulative and the relationship ends.
