Ms. Marvel, Vol. 4: Monster Smash by Brian Reed
4.0
The two storylines both work really well. The Puppet Master storyline could be a bit creepier, but the enclave of puppet slaves is interesting and the new members of Ms. Marvel's team add levity. [a:Brian Reed|61328|Brian Reed|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg] does a good job scavenging Machine Man and Sleepwalker from [a:Warren Ellis|12772|Warren Ellis|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1198679772p2/12772.jpg] and [a:Robert Kirkman|12425|Robert Kirkman|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1238103316p2/12425.jpg], who made those characters interesting.
The second story wraps up the alien storyline that's been lingering since the early Ms. Marvel books. The story may gets too introspective in parts, but works well. The Brood are creepy, even if they're really just the same villain as in the Alien movies.
