I have more questions after finishing this than I had going into it. So much went on yet it felt like nothing did? The plot felt so open ended all over and underwhelming. The story is not bad neither is the writing, it’s just that the story and characters are not flushed out at all. These books could’ve been even better with a more flushed out story & better explanations.
The story seemed so rushed in this one. The moment Sasha died it felt like lightning speed. The ending battle was really disappointing. It read more like ok here they are fighting ok now they are done and everyone is friends. The Earthborns that branched away from Max’s group showed up when it helped with the plot other than that they were MIA.
Glass & Luke leaving felt pointless after the reason they left. Their arc in this was so boring. They barely did anything. I assumed they would reunite with the rest of the characters and help out in a bigger way. Clarke’s parent showing up out of no where… again an underwhelming plot point. It felt thrown in there cause the book was ending and they needed to be reunited. I wish that plot was branched out more and we saw Clarke go find them or meet them some where in the middle.
