From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris

Still plugging away with Sookie. Her awesome weretiger boyfriend Quinn is missing and Sookie doesn't have the sense to realize that he's honestly a good guy and wouldn't stay away with no contact if he wasn't in a heap of trouble. Sookie learned in the last book that she's got a bit of fairy blood in her and her great-grandfather shows up and blows away Sookie's perception of her family tree. Alcide invites Sookie to come to a tete-a-tete between himself and the werewolf packleader who killed Alcide's father---whoops, the head to head turns into a war right then and there. Luckily Sam is there to keep Sookie safe since no one else really cares. (I've been rooting for Sam and Sookie to live happily ever after for a few books now. I'm hoping she ends the series with him.) Sookie's roommate Amelia turns into a pretty fair friend. Jason is as much a selfish moron as ever, but now he's really gotten onto Sookie's bad side. Bill turns up now and again to declare his sincere love for Sookie. The Louisiana vamps are taken over by hostile Nevada vamps when Sophie-Anne is killed, and there's treachery afoot in what's left of the Louisiana vampires. Eric remembers what happened with Sookie, and keeps saying they're going to talk about it, but they never do.
