Artificial Condition by Martha Wells

Book 2 starring a introverted, anxious, depressed murderbot that could kill you 100 different ways, but would rather watch soap operas. After hacking its own governing module, it is on the lam, trying to find answers to its past. I love the concept of a robot/android that is stuck in the middle of a standard sci-fi plot, but has seen all the standard sci-fi shows. The human characters are all cliche, and the bots are the ones with personalities and surprises. It is a fresh take that is executed so well. I can't wait for the next entry!
