Krampus: The Yule Lord by Brom

5.0

Naturally, as I do, I went into Krampus: The Yule Lord blindly. I didn't know a lot about Krampus or the lore that follows him. The only thing I had really known to compare him to was the move Krampus (2015). Needless to say, this book is nothing like that movie.

Krampus: The Yule Lord is front to back Yuletide/Christmas action. I loved every single minute of the story. I listened to the book on Audible. The narrator, Kirby Hayborne, did an outstanding job! They did every single voice, and they were all great. I loved that it was sent in West Virginia, as I have grown up near that area (in the Southwestern Virginia area), because all of the characters from that area spoke as if they were actually from there.

The main character, Jesse, started as a complete asshat. His growth as the story went on was one of my favorite parts of the book. Also, Krampus was complex and full of emotion. His character development was magical to read and experience. I will definitely be reading this book around this time every year. I loved it so much and can not wait to read more of Brom's stories.
