I will always love this series and the café it takes place in. That being said, this book wasn't my favorite. I don't really see people talking about the timeline of the books, so for anyone else interested this book takes place 2-3 years after book 1. So then that would make the series go: book 1, book 4, book 5, book 2, book 3. With book 3 being 15 years in the future, when Kei travels to meet Miki and Kazu's daughter has been born.
I can't tell if the things I don't like in this book are a translation issue or a writing issue. I've seen the other problems people talk about in the other novels: the thermometer alarm not being offered to everyone or the narrative changing between in first person and third person with no consistency.
The main problem I had with this novel is they suddenly have a way to make kaname's ghost get up whenever they want. Then what's the point of waiting for her to get up once a day...? I feel like that's a major plot hole, especially because this book is supposed to be only 2-3 years after book 1, and definitely not the last time we see her as the ghost. It could be that Kazu doesn't want to do that often, only in an emergency, but I think if that's the case it should have been explained.
Ultimately, I enjoy coming back to this world every time. I really love the novels where we get focus on the Tokita family! I think my favorite right now is tales from the cafe, with before your memory fades a close second.
