Raft by Stephen Baxter
4.5
adventurous fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

This could have done with some fleshing out of the society and some of the characters. However, I did find myself highly invested in the story and even found myself moved.

I would question the science... if I knew enough of the actual fields f science involved. However, it maintains an internal consistency that makes it possible for me to suspend disbelief... after a little rant with my son (who had also read the book) about how I almost couldn't get beyond
the nebula having breathable air. I was able to hand-wave that away with "it's a different universe" and move on with the story.
