A reflective, slow burn, atmospheric eco horror novella. The prose is poetic and the narration feels a lot like a collection of essays on grief and different aspects of it - grief over the lose of a parent, grief over a loss of cultural memory, heritage and community, grief over climate catastrophe. It depicts that heaviness of helplessness and depression, and lack of drive and purpose.
