Silent Betrayal by Shona Knight

2.0

While I enjoyed the first one, I just did not like this one.

I thought the dialogue in some parts was so ridiculous and over the top it actually became silly. I didn't feel like they loved and cared for her. It was just so over the top for me that it was flat. I felt nothing.

I disliked that several of them were already engaging in a sexual relationship with her before discussing consent. There's a part in here, after the sex has begun, where she admits she didn't know that she could say no to physical contact. Like. Wut.

The pet names were said wayyyy too much. I read the words kitten, angel, and sugar so much they honestly stopped looking like words at a certain point. And it makes no sense to me that after all the trauma she's been through she's just fine with all these guys.

By the end I was mostly skimming.
