sarahconnorjr 's review for:
The Things That Keep Us Here
by Carla Buckley
This reads like a screenplay. Not that Buckley is a bad story teller, but if I read a movie I want it to be because of subtitles.
Unlike others, I like the overly dramatic aspects of this book. It's like a bird-flu soap opera. I'm not one that is drawn to family drama or dystopia that doesn't heavily involve theology, but I still wasn't turned off by this novel.
