Abby really knows how to make you feel everything the characters are experiencing.
Which in this case meant I was smiling, giggling and feeling warm and fuzzy inside. But it also means that for around 80 pages I felt SO MUCH anxiety and like I was having a life crisis along with Sloan and Jason.
Buuuut the experience of listening to the songs to every chapter was AMAZING, I think it plays a big part in feeling so connected to Sloan and Jason’s feelings.
I like how the ending played out but it felt a little rushed, I wouldn’t have minded an extra 20-40 pages of how they got too their endpoint and healthier coping mechanisms.
I’ll need a few more days to process this book some more. I recommend it BUT be ready for some serious topics such as self harm, grief, depression and toxic coping mechanisms.
