Synopsis: Having secretly hacked their own governor module to become self-aware and autonomous, "Murderbot" spends their days watching soap operas while playing security guard for the emotional fragile humans their contracted out to. On a space mission surveying a distant planet, Murderbot's love-hate relationship with humans is tested when systems start glitching and another survey team goes dark.
Review: A pessimistic, sarcastic robot who secretly loves his humans? Sign me up! This was such a fun fast read, although the ending was a little strange after the connections made, but that does just highlight the emotionless state of SecUnits, even self-aware ones.
