The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

5.0

The Hobbit is one of my all time favourite adventure novels. Bilbo Baggins, ordinary and unassuming is thrown into an epic fantasy roadtrip with a band of brave, uncouth dwarfs on their way to steal back their gold and homeland from a dragon. I can’t think of a better story of personal growth and high fantasy. This book will always have a dear place in my heart. I’ve laughed at Bilbo’s uninvited guests, agonized over their long journey through the goblin mountains and evil forests, cheered for the reclamation of a homeland and the deader of evil, and cried at the end of a noble bloodline. Absolutely perfect in every way.
