A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin

4.0

Great followup to the 1st book, albeit with a little more lulls in between the action.
Dany's story here was disappointing. I like how Theon's story was one you knew where it was heading but hoped there would be some sort of redemption. The main star of this book has got to be Tyrion! I loved how he concocts his schemes in somewhat an opposition to his sister yet all he does is for House Lannister wholeheartedly. His view of justice is an amusing one.
The little subplot involving Arya and her "three wishes" was excellent.
I won't say anymore than that except list some theories:
1- The face trees are inhabited by spirits of the dead.
2- The truth behind the Starks' crypt is to raise an army of Others in times of need.
3- The thing Ned wanted to tell Jon was that his mother is Lyanna (which explains why he's overprotective of him and the memories of her saying "Promise me, Ned..") which means he's Rheagar's bastard.
4- There will be a confrontation between Sansa and Joffery sometime in the future.
5- The Asshai people will interfere with the going ons in Westeros more.
6- Gendry and Arya will be a couple or he'll end up serving her.
7- More evil bastards will appear.

ON TO BOOK THREE!
