Black Widow Vol. 3: Last Days by Nathan Edmondson

This series was really underwhelming, unfortunately. The overall villian was pretty stupid in my opinion, and such a weird villain for Natasha (who’s a normal human (with the super soldier serum, obviously)) to have. And the way she defeated the villain was honestly pathetic. All this build up for absolutely, nothing to happen. The only issues I actually enjoyed were the last two, which were very unnecessary and not at all related to the plot of this story. They were flashback scenes to when Nat was still a KGB assassin for the Red Room, and they were easily the two best issues in here. Those two issues reminded me why I love Black Widow. She’s ruthless and she’s unapologetic abt it. Without those issues, this easily would have been a low two stars.

Anyways, this is definitely not a series I really enjoyed. The art was very beautiful though, and it’s really the only thing I can say I fully enjoyed throughout this story. The sketch mark & watercolor style is some of my favorite comic book art ever so I would read from this artist again. But I will not heavily recommend this series to any kind of Black Widow fan. Disappointed, but not surprised after reading the other two volumes /:
