This is the first book I've read by Evie Dunmore, and I am so glad I picked this up because she has cured my need for an enemies to lovers slow burn! I thought the story between Lucie and Tristan had the perfect amount of tension and conflict, with just the right dose of emotions to keep me invested in the plot!

Even though the story focused mainly on the developing romance between the two characters, there was plenty of dramatic side stories that gave it more layers. I like that the author managed to weave in themes of feminism and female friendship, although my only criticism would be the representation of the only character of color in the story - he just felt too stereotypical. I think he could have had a little more personality especially since the main characters were very much "against the grain". However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and thought it was very well written. I do plan on reading the other two books that she has published, and can't wait to explore the other character's story!
