Peaches & Honey: These Immortal Truths by R. Raeta

Wow. Just WOW.

What a beautiful book. The heartache alone is astonishing. I can't believe how well this book was able to pull on my heartstrings.

You can literally feel the years of Anna's life, her love, her anger and her will. I don't have children but her and Piers hit me so hard. And the reunion of her family later. It touched on so many hard parts of history and yet it did so in a memorable way, especially for a fiction book.

And this is what I mean when I say I want slow burn, it's not in terms of the length of the book, but the time. I kept expecting it within the first 100 pages or so and it didn't come. Hundreds and hundreds of years in the development! And it still kept me invested, sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the first kiss.
