Thank you to Jonathan Ball Publishers for gifting me a review copy of this book!

I enjoyed Lightlark so I was excited to be able to jump into Nightbane.

Unfortunately, the plot and pacing fell flat for me, I read so many chapters just not feeling what book 1 made me feel and it was honestly disappointing.

That said, I couldn't figure out why this book wasn't the same for me until we started seeing more of Grim.

The chapters between Isla and Grim were so good, well-paced, it kept me interested and overall I loved every chapter containing Grim.

If Alex could write a whole series about Grim and Isla and maybe make it spicy, I would buy them up SO QUICKLY.

The rest of the book felt like so much was happening but NOTHING was happening until the last 10 chapters.

There are so many events and happenings in this book that are just completely irrelevant to the story and to the character development.

Grim saved this book from being below 3 stars and I probably will only read book 3 to get my Grim fix.
