Mosquito Man by Jeremy Bates
3.0
3.5 stars, for sure. Sometimes the exposition felt a bit on the nose (some of the history of the “creature” would’ve been better developed using vignettes similar to Stephen King’s use of vignettes Will describing all the random deaths in the early pages of The Stand), and I felt the characters could’ve been a lot more developed; I never really felt invested or cared what would happen to them. It was a VERY readable book, and the ending truly surprised me (in a pleasant way).
