I liked the green river killer by Case. Two friends kill themselves and a grieving mother hires her ex boyfriend to investigate.
The story is good. But so bizarre. The boy mystery is they feel guilty for a hunting accident and not calling a hospital. The presumed dead man is in fact not dead then eaten by a bear. Kids off themselves.
The detective is noir which is fun but blah. He has a hormone defect which makes him grow abnormally large. His ex gf has an unhappy marriage and the detective wants to make her happy but overall fails.
It’s a good noir detective story but didn’t feel to connected
