I give this 3.5 stars rounded up for the pure unexpectedness of this book. I always love a book where all of the threads come together in the end, and for that it was very satisfying. At the same time there were a lot of pages describing the mansion, and I can see how some would find it tiresome. Very unusual and enjoyable read.
