Every Last Fear
by Alex Finlay
It's been a while since a murder mystery/thriller's ending has really surprised me, but this one did. There are 2 mysteries for the reader to solve - Charlotte's murder for which Danny is wrongfully imprisoned (if you ask anyone in his family other than his brother Matt who saw him that night!) and the murder of everyone else in Matt and Danny's immediate family, which might just be a gas leak freak accident, but some unusual things about the accident have gotten the attention of the FBI. The story alternates POVs for each member of the Pines family, so the reader gets to witness the events leading up to the deaths from the victims' POVs before the tragedy, while Matt and FBI Agent Keller are trying to solve what happened in the present. So many books in this genre have become predictable, but I wasn't sure how this one would go until the very end! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves murder mysteries!
