This is definitely my favorite Orwell book so far, a semi-fictional (?) memoir which depicts poverty, menial work, and the constant struggle for survival in urban cities.
A bit of a hard read in the sense that it evokes a sense of hopelessness for the characters. I’ve never rooted for someone to get a job this much until I read this book.
