This book was a wild ride. The first 100 pages seemed almost nonsensical, yet the way this book is written kept me interested and made the reading, despite the confusion, pleasurable.
Then, all of a sudden, the confusion is gone, and you think you understand what is happening...this is only partly true as there are several more twists and turns that bring you to an unexpected ending.
This book is sad and inspiring, imparts some hope for the goodness left in humanity, and is eerily haunting all at the same time.
I understand why some readers did not enjoy this book and/or DNF it. However, part of the enjoyment of reading from the horror or thriller genre is accepting that most of the time, you do not know until you know. If you go into this book with that mindset, I think you will enjoy the ride.
If I had to choose a quote from this book that sums it up in one sentence, it would be this.
"There's a monster inside each of us,' he says."
Happy reading.
