This novel is one of the more fast-paced of Heyer's novels, and I was entertained from start to finish.  The power dynamic between the male and female leads is more even than the plot would suggest.

In other Heyer novels with similar "young, naive wife debuts in London," the husband is typically completely in the know and waiting to swoop in and save her.  In this book, they are more often taking turns helping the other, and both are bettered by their adventures together.

I also deeply enjoyed the group of friends that give the plot a color and liveliness that made me laugh out loud.
