Good in Bed
by Jennifer Weiner
I know, I know. Random free chick lit, though. I'm not sure this is healthy so hot on the heels of the tale of Bella and "Sparkly Fangface" though...
It was better than expected. She hit the body image stuff dead on, but I do think Cannie was a little too whiny. I mean, it's chick lit, so we all know that in the end she's going to get the guy and everything will be all right, but she spends a lot of time feeling sorry for herself about her childhood (as if she's the only person whose father let her down or mother shocked her) and her break-up (because no one else's heart has ever been broken,) and too little time seeing the joy in having a good writing job in a big city, friends who loved her, and lots of space.
