This book, until about page 170, is PAINFUL to read. The character and the plot holes and ease at which she comits her plans and atrocities is enough to drive one mad.

I gave up on this book twice because it was torture to read another page about Ms. Amber.

However, the second half of the book grasped me deeply. I ate it up. It was emotional and l surprising.

This book could be a 5/5 as a movie. But because I had to gaslight myself into finishing it (since I bought it. And I might as well get through it), it's a 3.25.

I just say, try try again with this book. You'll probably love it in the end.

**edit to add, it's grown on me a bit and I may read it again in the future and disect it. 4.0 for sure lol**
