The amount of love I have for this series is fairly indescribable!
Tristan, Danny, and Dusty wormed their way inside my heart in the very first book. And their little family, their unlikely gang of misfits continues to be one of my favourite character set ever.
In this book, we finally get to the bottom of Bruce's story, which is unfortunately linked with an apocalyptic event Tristan and his friends need to prevent. The story was funny, exciting, and so wonderful! There was enough action to keep you guessing until the very end. There was humour to keep the mood light and endear the characters even more to you. There were wonderfully sweet and loving characters, and I have a soft spot for every single one of them.
Tristan and Danny are now an established couple ready to move in together. But their adventures do not end just yet. Although their romance is not the forefront of the story, it simmers in the background and provides a strong foundation.
Dusty is her confident and snarky self who should really admit some feelings to herself about Bruce. Speaking of him, this one is his book. His heartbreaking story is a big focus, and I have to admit it made me cry a bit.
Chan, Sam, and Harrison are a bit newer additions to the gang. Well, not Chan, who's been a fairly constant presence in all the books. But Sam and Harrison finally got their screen time, and I absolutely loved them.
I could go on listing some more names, like Viv, Benny, Ari, and the queens, but I'll leave it to your imagination.
The bottomeline is that the author created something really magical with these characters.
The beautiful writing style is only the cherry on top. The story flows easily, and there are no boring bits. The scenery and environment are described in a way that it is quite easy to imagine and see the happenings, just like a movie.
I just really really really loved this book. I'm also a big fan of connections between an author's different series, and if you've read Molly Boys, you might notice some pretty awesome reveals. I kinda screamed when I got to that part.
I could very easily read about Tristan, Danny, Dusty, and the others for an eternity, so I hope the author keeps the books coming!
