I much prefer books that have horrible things at the beginning than at the end. Throughout many books, I wait for the common plot traps that will result in uncomfortable situations in the middle and end of books, normally ruining it for me. Somehow this book managed to avoid most of that, even though the topic is revenge, which just begs for plot traps. Well done.
